Fire Red and Leaf Green, also referred to as FRLG, are technically remakes of Red and Blue to celebrate 10 years of Pokémon, as well as to allow one to acquire the Pokémon missing from Ruby and Sapphire. The two main exceptions are the addition of the Sevii Islands - a new area which one may visit after defeating Blaine in the Cinnabar Island Gym - and the newer Pokémon.
Interestingly enough, FRLG is more or less an edit of Ruby and Sapphire with minor changes, such as those one may find in a romhack. This means that many of the Ruby/Sapphire glitches are, in fact, still in Fire Red and Leaf Green. And no, they did not add in glitches from Red and Blue. No, seriously, they're not that stupid. No MissingNO.
